January 5, 2010 Monthly Meeting
Town of Upham Monthly Meeting January 5, 2010 Chairman Larry Anderson called the January meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. A full quorum is present. Also present were, James Jansen, Leah Antoniewicz, Tim Murphy and 14 registered visitors. Rodger Henke was absent due to illness. The Clerk read the minutes of the December meeting. Supervisor Jansen made a motion to accept the minutes as read. Chairman Anderson seconded. Minutes approved. The Treasurer reported the balance as of January 1, 2009 as $743,890.06, total receipts as of December 31, 2009 of $2,053,061.78 and total disbursements as of December 31, 2009 of $2,043,957.54. Balance on hand as of December 31, 2009 was $752,994.30 Chairman Anderson made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s report. Supervisor Jansen seconded. Motion carried. Chairman Anderson presented the December road improvement report. The clerk recommended the appointed of the following election workers for 2010: Nancy Bruce, Irene Buck, Sylvia Cross, Ester Lodholz, Diann Raith, Sandy Spielbauer and Rose Jansen and alternates: Dixie Cherba, Pat Anderson, Chris Strasser, Carol Horneck. Supervisor Jansen made a motion to appoint the election workers as recommended by Clerk. Chairman Anderson seconded. Motion carried. Supervisor Jansen made a motion to approve the application by the Summit Lake Survey Association to do a lake survey. Chairman Anderson seconded. Motion carried. Chairman Anderson reviewed the quotes to insulate and heat the garage. Kramer’s Building Supply - $6,639.01 w/R19 insulation, Builder’s Service - $6,135.75 w/R38 insulation. The quote included insulation and lining materials. Supervisor Jansen made a motion to approve the Builder’s Service Quote. Chairman Anderson seconded. Motion carried. T.P Builders have given a quote not to exceed $3,000.00 for labor to install insulation and lining. Chairman Anderson made a motion to approve T.P Builder’s quote. Supervisor Jansen seconded. Motion carried. The board extended a thank you to David Raith for allowing the town to use his heated garage to thaw the truck and make repairs. Discussion took place regarding the cost of plowing Clear Lake Lodge. Bob Hunter, a representative of Clear Lake asked that whenever we plow Maywood Road we also plow their road. The Town agreed to charge $70.00 to plow and sand and $60.00 just to plow. The town has plowed their road twice this year w/o sand. Chairman Anderson reminded those present not to leave snow on the road when clearing their driveway. This is a county ordinance. Chairman Anderson made a motion to pay the bills. Supervisor Jansen seconded. Motion carried. Supervisor Jansen made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Chairman Anderson seconded. Meeting adjourned. Leah Antoniewicz
