September 1, 2009 Monthly Meeting
Town of Upham Monthly Meeting September 1, 2009 Chairman Larry Anderson called the September meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. A full quorum is present. Also present were, James Jansen, Roger Henke, Leah Antoniewicz, Tim Murphy and 29 registered visitors. The Clerk read the minutes of the August meeting. Supervisor Henke made a motion to accept the minutes as read. Supervisor Jansen seconded. Minutes approved. The Treasurer reported the balance as of January 1, 2009 as $743,890.06, total receipts as of August 31, 2009 of $1,297,968.32 and total disbursements as of August 31, 2009 of $1,922,868.32. Balance on hand as of August 31, 2009 was $118,990.06. Supervisor Jansen made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s report. Supervisor Henke seconded. Motion carried. Claude Bickler reported that he has a culvert in front of his home that needs repair. Chairman Anderson stated that it would more than likely be taken care of yet this fall. Chairman Anderson presented the August road improvement report. Chairman Anderson presented the quote of $37,333.00 from the Langlade County Highway Department to put new blacktop on Greenway Lane and resurface a portion of Forest Road. Supervisor Jansen made a motion to accept the quote from Langlade County as presented. Supervisor Henke seconded. Motion carried. Chairman Anderson appointed Roger Henke as the Road Commissioner. Chairman Anderson read the letter from Jon Sim, Environmental Review Coordinator of the WI DNR regarding the Forest Road culvert and the draft of his response (available upon request). The board approved the reply to be mailed. There was no response from Langlade County Zoning regarding the tree drop on Summit Lake. No further discussion. Chairman Anderson thanked Richard Zacharias for the tow chain he donated to the town. Supervisor Henke made a motion to pay the bills. Supervisor Jansen seconded. Motion carried. Supervisor Jansen made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Supervisor Henke seconded. Meeting adjourned. Leah Antoniewicz
