Town of Upham Monthly Meeting May 5, 2009 Supervisor James Jansen called the May meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Also present were, Roger Henke, Leah Antoniewicz, Tim Murphy and 16 visitors. Chairman Anderson was on vacation. The Clerk read the minutes of the April meeting. Supervisor Henke made a motion to accept the minutes as read. Supervisor Jansen seconded. Minutes approved. The Treasurer reported the balance as of January 1, 2009 as $743,890.06, total receipts as of April 30, 2009 of $1,225,294.59 and total disbursements as of April 30, 2009 of $1,755,010.03. Balance on hand as of April 30, 2009 was $214,174.62. Supervisor Henke made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s report. Supervisor Jansen seconded. Motion carried. During public comment time, Paul Sima asked that the issue of individuals using Town property on Forest Road as access to Summit Lake be put on the June agenda. He feels that the town should sell the property to these people so that the proper taxes are collected. Frank Cherba asked for a fire extinguisher for the transfer site. The clerk will put the order in. Supervisors Jansen and Henke reviewed the road report and the four-year road plan. Supervisors Jansen and Henke reviewed the Resolution Opposing Proposed Changes to Wisconsin Prevailing Wage Law. Supervisor Jansen made a motion to pass this resolution. Supervisor seconded. Motion carried. The Clerk read the thank you note from the Dale Brush family. Discussion took place regarding having two signatures on checks rather than three. Tim reported that CoVantage requires only two signatures. The board members present gave approval for two signatures on checks when necessary. Supervisor Jansen made a motion to pay the bills. Supervisor Henke seconded. Motion carried. Supervisor Henke made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Supervisor Jansen seconded. Meeting adjourned. Leah Antoniewicz
