August 5, 2008 Monthly Meeting
Town of Upham Monthly Meeting August 5, 2008 Chairman Rodger Lodholz called the August meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Also present were, James Jansen, Roger Henke, Leah Antoniewicz, Tim Murphy and 13 visitors. The Clerk read the minutes of the July Monthly meeting. Supervisor Jansen made a motion to accept the minutes as read. Supervisor Henke seconded. Minutes approved. The Treasurer reported the balance as of January 1, 2008 as $1,010,797.25, total receipts as of July 31, 2008 of $1,004,331.76 and total disbursements as of July 31, 2008 of $1,826,002.09. Balance on hand as of July 31, 2008 was $189,126.92. Supervisor Henke made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s report. Supervisor Jansen seconded. Motion carried. During Visitor and Comment time, LeRoy Spielbauer thanked the Town for allowing the Summit Lake Association to use the town hall for a meeting. Paul Sima thanked the town for completing the blacktopping of Forest Road. Ann Meyer and Ralph Uttke both addressed the crowd with their campaign issues. The Clerk read Application for Minor Subdivision #1788, Clay Duncan, applicant. The minor subdivision is located on the corner of Bogus Road and Log Road. After a brief discussion Supervisor Jansen made a motion to send a letter to the Variance Board stating the Board’s opposition as the board feels that while the lots are not buildable they are still too small. Chairman Lodholz seconded. Motion carried. Connie Kramer from Kramer’s Building Supply gave an update on the town garage construction. According to engineer, Bill Kelly, if the building is under 25,000 cubic feet we do not have to register with the state and will save $2,500.00 in inspection fees plus other state fees. The building cannot house more than three gas or diesel vehicles. The suggested size of the building is 34 x 34 or 32 x 36 or 36 x 32 w/14’ sidewalls. The estimated cost for a basic plan that will meet state code is $500.00 plus a $20.00 building permit and a $20.00 electrical permit. The Clerk recommended the following poll workers for the September 9th Primary: Nancy Bruce, Sandra Spielbauer, Irene Buck, Carol Horneck for all day and Sylvia Cross from 6:15 to 2:00 p.m. and Rose Jansen from 2:00 p.m. to close. Supervisor Henke made the motion to accept the clerk’s recommendation. Supervisor Jansen seconded. Motion carried. Chairman Lodholz made a motion to pay the bills. Supervisor Henke seconded. Motion carried. Supervisor Henke made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Supervisor Jansen seconded. Meeting adjourned. Leah Antoniewicz
