Public Hearing February 5, 2008 Rodger Lodholz, Chairman, called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. The purpose of the public hearing was to discuss purchasing 1.23 acres from Plum Creek. This parcel ofland is adjacent to and directly west of the town hall. The Clerk reported that in preparation for this hearing she had researched the property record and found that the parcel is part of a larger parcel that is in Managed Forest Land (MFL). After discovering the tax status, the Clerk contacted the DNR. The land cannot be withdrawn from MFL unless it is designated as recreational. The purpose for purchasing the land is to build a garage for the town equipment. Furthermore, if the land was not going to be designated as recreational then the entire parcel that the 1.23 acres is part of would have to be taken out ofMFL. It was understood that Plum Creek would not want to withdraw the entire parcel as the cost to do so would be astronomical. With no further discussion on this matter, a motion was made and seconded to close the public hearing. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned.
