November 10, 2007 BUDGET HEARING
BUDGET HEARING November 10, 2007 Chairman Rodger Lodholz called the Budget Hearing to order at 9:00 a.m. at the Upham Town Hall. Also present were Roger Henke, James Jansen, Tim Murphy, Leah Antoniewicz and 7 visitors. The clerk went over the proposed budget of $469,050. The Clerk explained that as of 12/31/07 the estimated cash balance would be $114,809.49 and that $100,000 of this balance had been included in the revenue to retain the same tax levy as 2007 of $186,127.00. The entire budget was gone through by account. Nancy Bruce made a motion to increase the Clerk’s salary from $5,280 to $7,800 per year. Marion Sery seconded. Unanimous yea voice vote. Motion carried. Nancy Bruce made a motion to increase the Treasurer’s salary from $3,960 to $5,520 per year. Marion Sery seconded. Unanimous voice vote. Motion carried. Nancy Bruce made a motion to increase the hourly workers wage including Poll Workers from $7.50 to $8.50 per hour. Marion Sery seconded. A unanimous yea voice vote was taken. Motion carried. The Clerk pointed out two new items in the budget. The fire number sign project and a Town web site. A motion was made and seconded to adopt the 2008 Budget of $466,050.00. Motion carried. The Clerk asked for permission to have a debit card for the Town with a $500.00 limit. The treasurer said he would rather that there was a credit card as activity is easier to track. Joe Kirsch made a motion to get a Town Credit Card from CoVantage Credit Union with a $1,000.00 limit and that the treasurer, clerk and chairman are the only ones to use it. Joyce Kelm seconded. A unanimous yea voice vote was taken. Motion carried. Bob Kelm made a motion to adjourn the hearing. Joe Kirsch seconded.
